Fire Retardant Cases
Additives can be added to the HDPE polymer used in the manufacture of rotomoulded Amazon Cases to render them antistatic, Infra Red reflective, high temperature resistant or fire retardant.
The cases shown were specially designed for the French Gendarmerie for the transport and deployment of tear gas grenades.
Many thousands of these cases are now in service, before which they were tested by the Gendarmerie to ensure that they were self extinguishing when exposed to a fire source and that they contained the blast of a grenade exploding within the case.
The internals of the cases were fitted with fire resistant closed cell foam to cushion the grenades against impact.
