The Design Process
The obvious solution is not always the most appropriate. Our designers call upon a wealth of in-depth knowledge of materials and production processes and have the communication skills to involve the customer fully in the design process.
The four steps shown here represent the process at CP for a typical design project for an OEM company.
1. Design Concept - Client discussion to finalise the brief. Development and refinement of ideas.
2. Concept Development - Refinement and development of the concept, identification of manufacturing and pricing issues, followed by presentation of a full-size model to the client.
3. Prototyping - Finalising drawings of prototype after resolving mechanical and manufacturing aspects.
4. Manufacture - First run manufacture after defining manufacturing, assembly, despatch and quality methods.
