Foam Cushioning
CP can tailor make foam internals for any size or shape bag or case by a variety of processes, including high speed CNC routing, laminating, drilling, blocking and hand sculpting.
We can calculate which density of foam to use and the exact thickness of foam required to produce the desired deceleration on impact.
FEATURES
- Predominantly, CP uses Plastazote Foam - a cross-linked, closed cell polyethylene foam which has ideal characteristics for use in protective packaging.
- Plastazote is inert and lightweight, whilst being tough, flexible and resilient.
- It has a very wide operating temperature range and exhibits excellent chemical and water resistance.
- Specific anti-static and conductive foams are available for the packaging of static sensitive components.
- Plastazote foams are defined by their density in Kg per cubic metre. At CP we generally use LD18, LD33 and LD45.
- Given the wieght of a component and the maximum g force it is to be subjected to, we can calculate the type of foam necessary and its thickness and shape.

Protection from impact and vibration
The majority of our products are custom built. This enables us to offer an immense range of options in terms of fittings, external finishes, protective internals and labelling.
It also ensures that your made-to-measure case or bag is a complete protective system, designed for purpose.
These represent only a fraction of the features that CP can incorporate into your particular protection solution, so if you wish to explore the possibilities further please contact us by email talk to one of our commercial design engineers on +44 (0) 208 568 1881.
