CP Cases will be exhibiting at ITEC, taking place from 22-24 May at London’s ExCel Centre. Our technical sales team will be on hand to demonstrate CP’s accumulated expertise in customising Amazon Cases, Amazon Racks and rugged textile products for deployment in field situations.

Both rotomoulded Amazon and aluminium ERack 19 inch enclosures can both be fitted with CP Cases’ EasyGlide system, which enables easy access to housed equipment; the 19” chassis glides forward, for access and for complete removal.

This capability is achieved without loss of captivity performance, or anti-vibration characteristics. The ability to quickly remove and replace the chassis without the use of tools provides significant benefits when populating and maintaining equipment – essential in prototyping activities, and in maintaining mission critical components.

Outside Broadcasters Rely on CP Cases

AluCurve cases are manufactured without a corner weld to prevent seam splitting and to give a smooth finish. Pre-pressed corner indents provide extra strength and can be customised with colour coded corner ‘smarties’ to aid kit recognition.

Each case is fitted out with the highest quality CNC routed foam designed specifically for each individual camera for a perfect fit. Cases can be further customised should you need a different configuration. Our computerised  foam routing machines ensure we can accommodate any equipment. CP Cases Working to Protect the Environment

CP Cases is now using environmentally friendly SurTec 650 chromitAL® Passivation to protect its ERACK, SatRack and Amazon Rack aluminium rack frames from corrosion and damage.

As part of our on-going commitment to the environment, CP Cases now carry out environmentally friendly trivalent passivation for coating aluminium rack frames within our Isleworth facility. Previously our racks were alochromed, so this is a significant step forward for us in developing our processes to produce less waste and reduce environmental impact.  At CP Cases we constantly monitor our processes and will, at every opportunity develop them to be beneficial to the environment.

SurTec 650 chromitAL®   utilises environmentally friendly trivalent chromium, meeting all current environmental standards Used as a pre-treatment before painting and free of hexavalent chromium and phosphates, the coating gives excellent protection of treated metals and guarantees perfect adhesion for paint.  It is highly suited to aluminium and can be either sprayed on or immersed.

ERACK – the Perfect Yacht Accessory!

It may be a problem not many of us have – but a problem is a problem….

What do you do when you have to transport your state of the art sound system and 32” LCD screen onto your private yacht in one piece?  Call CP Cases of course!

We are experts at providing secure ways to protect valuable items when in transit and our designers created the perfect solution – a bespoke ERACK case for the sound system, with an EasyglideTM system to enable the removal of the internal chassis for convenient access.  For added stability of the system when in use, we added a shaped mat for the top of the ERACK unit so that the screen could sit securely on top of the case. 

The bespoke aluminium case for the 32” LCD screen. This was fitted with pads of foam to secure and protect the screen during storage and transportation.

 To provide that finishing touch – we were asked if we could match the ERACK cases to the customer’s bright yellow Ferrari.  We were more than pleased to oblige.   A fantastic result for a very satisfied customer.

CP Applauds ACA Progress

CP Cases is pleased to see the amazing progress that has been made on building the first of two new Royal Navy Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers. Two massive sections of HMS Queen Elizabeth have been joined together. It took around 90 minutes to move a 4087 tonne section of the hull 100m via 132 remote controlled transporters to join another section of the ship at BAE’s Goven shipyard inGlasgow.

The transporters moved the two parts to within five centimetres of each other. Workers spent the next few days closing the gap, precisely aligning the various units and compartments before welding the sections together.

Block 04 is home to the two main engine rooms, the sick bay and quarters for some of the 1,500 sailors and air group personnel who will serve on the ship.

Together the two sections comprise one fifth of Queen Elizabeth, the first of two 65,000-tonne super-carriers being built for the fleet.

CP Cases, the specialist designer and manufacturer of protective rackmount enclosures and transit cases is proudly supplying more than 1200 custom-designed rackmount datacoms enclosures and more than 4000 adaptors and brackets, for installation onboard the two new aircraft carriers.  The smallest enclosure accommodates 2 single units of 19” rack-mounted network switches; the largest cabinet stands almost 5 feet tall and can accommodate 29 units.

Working closely with BAE Systems part of the Aircraft Carrier Alliance (ACA), CP are also integrating the power supply wiring, voltage filter and cable management systems in order that once installed into the ships, the enclosures are ‘plug & play’ ready.

CP Cases won the contract in competitive tender and manufacture began immediately at the company’s West London plant. “The building of these two mighty ships is a monumental engineering project and we’re very proud to be part of it” said Peter Ross, Managing Director of CP Cases. “It is humbling to think that we’re part of a small elite group of engineering companies, which represent the “crème de la crème” of the UK’s finest manufacturers, and that the enclosures we design and build here in our factory, will play a mission critical role on-board these Royal Navy flagships.

We are part of a truly national project, supporting local jobs and communities throughout the whole country, with thousands of people working towards the single goal of making these ships part of our national heritage”.

CP Supports Young Musicians

CP Cases has gone back to its roots in the rock music industry, by sponsoring the Theory Project Revolution (TPR), an independent gig promoter specialising in promoting local bands to a local crowd in the Guildford area. TPR was in danger of going under when lack of money and ageing and damaged equipment were threatening their existence.

The youth project is run by Gareth Varndell, who realised that there was very little for youth to do in the area. The TPR set out to create a safe, alcohol free, fun environment, in which young people could enjoy themselves on Friday and Saturday nights in and around Guildford. CP Cases stepped in to sponsor the group by donating three protective flight cases to protect the lighting and sound equipment used for their weekly music events.

Peter Ross, CP Cases’ Founder and Managing Director, who has his own history of performing live music was enthused – “May Gareth long continue to keep TPR going – we will continue to sponsor this very worthy cause – and we urge you to join us in helping him too – especially the local councils, by donating the venue and facility to be able to put on this fantastic weekly musical event.”

Last week members of our staff piled into cars and set off to the venue to present TPR with the cases and listen to some good music too – we hoped! The evening began by interacting with the groups and learning that the dedication of this ‘not for profit’ outfit reaches across every function from DJ and sound engineer to the performers themselves.

After Peter Ross had presented the cases to the group, the evening was enjoyable with live music and refreshments. The performers were amazing, the quality of sound, writing and delivery unbelievably good and the audience of well over 100 was very appreciative. The event headliners were the popular local pop-punk group ‘Amberline’. Band member Mark Steggall says: “Theory Project Revolution offers so many young bands a chance to perform. We have benefitted from their events so much. It’s great to see somewhere where kids are safe to enjoy a fun evening of live music“.

A fantastic time was had by all and we wish the best for TPR and the future musical greats who performed.

Amazon and ERACK Star Performers

CP Cases’ Amazon and ERACK ranges were our star performers at Oceanology 2012. With over 7,700 visitors from over 70 countries, Oceanology gave us the platform to show our rotomoulded Amazon and ERACK ranges to a worldwide audience  at the Excel Centre in London.

 Bret Wincott, Business Development commented: “There was a lot of activity on our stand. Our large range of sizes in rotomoulded Amazon  Cases, Amazon Racks and lightweight Aluminium ERACK received considerable interest, with visitors from Europe. USA and Asia all requesting information. They were particularly interested in customisation options including  fans, connector panels and air filters. Together with our impressive product range of thermo electric and compressed air conditioning units, we were able to offer a solution to all who visited our stand.”

CP Cases Sponsors the Bloodhound Land Speed Record Attempt

CP Cases, the UK based specialist designer & manufacturer of protective cases is proud to be sponsoring a group of British engineers who are attempting to break the land speed record and reach speeds of over 1000mph.

The inspiration and hope is that the British presence in such an exciting record attempt will encourage the country’s schoolchildren to seek careers in science and technology and safeguard our nation’s scientific community for the future.  A schools programme has been built around the project and each stage has involved young people.

CP Cases has provided 12 cases of various sizes to protect a range of critical equipment – including headset units, and as a sponsor we were invited to the workshops in Bristol to see how the project was progressing.  We were amazed by this enormous feat of engineering, the sheer size of engines and the sleek beauty of the car itself is awe inspiring.

Whilst there we witnessed the delivery of another sponsor’s contribution, a giant Rolex clock being used to time the attempt.

We look forward to the project moving forward and right now the track is being prepared in South Africa and has recently had a visit from Richard Noble to check on its progress!
